Below please find the minutes for the Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association scheduled monthly meeting for June 10, 2019. The meeting will be held at the Jeffries Yacht Club, at 565 Sumner St and starts promptly at 7 pm.

  • Greetings & Announcements
  • Police Updates – Sergeant Martin, Officer Simons.
  • Community Updates – Lina Tramelli, Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services.
  • Maverick Landing Community Services – Rita Lara.
  • Friends of the East Boston Greenway – Name Change Proposal, Karen Maddalena
  • LendLease Parking Proposal – Proposal to use the Piers Park Phase II property for temporary construction parking, Paul Scapicchio, Erik Tinkhauser
  • Odd Year Board Election– two members standing for re-election, one open seat,
    ELECTED: Rachel Blomerth, Cinda Baxter, Mary Cole
  • 347 Maverick St – demolition of an existing 3 family, combining of three lots with new construction of a 9 unit dwelling. Represented by Atty Richard Lynds, VOTE: 16 in favor, 10 opposed
  • JPNA Bylaws Changes– Vote on proposed changes to the JPNA bylaws, including proposed changes to JPNA boundaries and voting processes. Details of the proposed changes and the process are available here.  
    • Question # 1: Do you agree with the proposal to waive attendance requirements for abutters to a Project?
      PASSED: 24 in favor, 3 against
    • Question #2: Do you agree with letting all abutters vote, from both the JPNA and Gove Street Civic Association area?
      PASSED: 22 in favor, 5 against
    • Question #3: Do you agree with reducing the current quorum for voting from the current 25% to 15%?
      PASSED: 17 in favor, 10 against
    • Question #4: Do you agree with making the administrative clean-up to the bylaws as outlined in the Article by Article description outlined in the backup slides?
      PASSED: 25 in favor, 1 against
    • Question #5: Do you agree with the proposed boundary changes a presented at the May 2019 JPNA meeting and printed on the back page of this ballot?
      PASSED: 21 in favor, 6 against

  • Legislative Update – State Representative Adrian Madaro.
