The Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association invites everyone in the community to attend the neighborhood potluck at the Golden Stairs Terrace Park on Monday, July 8th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. This event will be in lieu of the monthly meeting and is meant to encourage connections between neighbors and residents. Organized by current board members Josh Schmidt, Jordan Frias, Susan Huang and Margaret Farmer, the group will provide drinks and desserts. Although people are encouraged to provide food, don’t let it stop you from joining us!

The potluck event has been a summer staple for more than 20 years and was started because there was no summer meeting. Board member Jordan Frias states “Monthly meetings are still on Zoom to encourage as many people to attend as possible, but we want everyone to meet one another in person.” Frias continued, “When neighbors have a chance to get to know each other, and a contentious issue arises, everyone is more likely to want to discuss it and work it out. ”.

As a part of the event the JPNA will be pulling the results of a raffle that is used to fund the organization. All proceeds are used to pay for website hosting, online subscriptions and event costs. Many local businesses have been generous in supporting the JPNA including Eastie Fit, the Quiet Few, Cafe Iterum, and Cunard Tavern. Other restaurants include Pazza on Porter as well as The Well Coffee House and Sante Fe. Outside of Eastie there is a gift card for the Smoke Shop BBQ, with other items being added.
