Community Updates

Hello Jeffries Point Neighbors!

Although we continue to social-distance for public health reasons, there continue to be activities and happening in the neighborhood.  We wanted to share these updates with you:

Rabies Alert:  From the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Two (2)  rabid raccoons have been identified in the Boston area over the last week. Though no human contact has occurred, 3 dogs were exposed. If you see a raccoon that appears to be sick or is behaving oddly, call 311. More on rabies: http://ow.ly/7LrN50C1atb

Movie Filming in the East Boston Shipyard 10/30
Mother/Android is a new feature film produced by Miramax and Sacrificial Love Productions, LLC. They will be filming in the East Boston Shipyard on Friday, October 30th from 7am to 7pm. Filming will take place on a pier and docked boat. You will notice an increase in vehicles in the area and possibly a smoke effect during filming. Parking will be permitted for support vehicles on the Harbor side of Marginal Street for the entire day of filming. The filmmakers are taking extensive precautions regarding the ongoing pandemic. Additional information can be found here.  For questions or concerns, please contact:

Are you prepared for an emergency?  Do you have confidence that you and your family will know what to do if a disaster impacts East Boston?  There are many risks facing our community today and emergency preparedness is most successful when individuals are confident in what to do next and the community comes together.  This forum will address actions East Boston can take regarding flooding, storm surge, extreme temperatures, and unexpected community health issues.

Please join speakers from Boston’s Office of Emergency Management, Boston Public Health Commission, the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and former FEMA Deputy Director Rich Serino, for an information-packed seminar on what you can do!
