  • Boston Planning and Development Agency – Community introduction and discussion of the BPDA’s role in community planning and development. Jared Staley, Kristina Ricco.
  • Suffolk Downs Redevelopment Project DEFERRED until April Meeting. Update on redevelopment plans. HYM, project developer.
  • 228 Webster Street – Proposal to rehabilitate existing building and construct new addition to increase occupancy from 3 to 5 residential units. Attorney Richard Lynds. VOTE
  • 120 Everett Street – Proposal to update basement living space. Owner Dan Crupi. VOTE

 

Planning & Zoning: March 21st, 7:00pm at the Jeffries Yacht Club (565 Sumner Street), agenda to follow.

Community Preservation Act Informational Meeting: March 8th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the East Boston High School. Questions about what the CPA is and how it will affect East Boston? Wondering what kinds of projects can apply for CPA funds? Have an idea for a CPA funded project in East Boston? Representatives from Boston’s new CPA Committee will be on hand to answer questions.

General announcement: The Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association is accepting nominations to the JPNA Planning & Zoning Committee.  This is an opportunity for your voice to not only be heard, but to hold a key role in making sure development projects, both large and small, get the attention they deserve!  Several openings are available.  The committee meets on one Wednesday per month, please see the 2018 calendar for details.  As a committee member, you’ll work with owners, developers and their attorneys to prepare for P&Z meetings and will help assess and organize zoning agendas for voting. This committee reports into the JPNA Board.  For more details please email the board at Board@JeffriesPoint.org or contact any Board member.

February 2018 Planning & Zoning Meeting

Jeffries Point Neighborhood Association P&Z Meeting held Wednesday February 21s

February Agenda covered:

120 Everett Street, project to update living space.  Owner Dan Crupi reviewed the addition he and his wife want to add for their living space by finishing their basement.  Their current living space is 700 square feet.  The project is compliant with the city zoning requirements except for the Floor Area Ratio (FAR).  Floor plans were reviewed and a copy was provided to the JPNA Board for records.   • Vote on liquor license request for 331 Sumner Street, The Quiet Few Bar/Restaurant.

NOTE that all projects discussed during this meeting will be scheduled again at future Planning & Zoning Committee meetings. A JPNA neighborhood vote will NOT be taken on these projects until neighbors have additional opportunity to review and discuss the projects.  The 173-177 Maverick St. project will be reviewed at the Gove Street Citizens Association meeting scheduled for Monday, January 22nd at 6:30pm, Noddle Island Community Room, Logan Rental Car Center.  The JPNA encourages those interested in 173-177 Maverick St to consider attending the Gove Street Citizens Association meeting.
